When I was 15
I had a dream
that was an awakening
to me

I dreamt
about my best friend
at the time

She looked
like a fairy maiden
or a princess
caught
in the wrong century
with
incredible
long
wavy
blonde
hair

In the daytime
the thought
never
crossed my mind
that this
beautiful young woman
would have
aroused desire in me

But I awoke
one morning
to recognize
that life held
many more
possibilities
for me
than I
had realized
